Terms of Use

Effective date: July 7, 2026. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of studentloanreset.com (the "Site"), operated by Student Loan Reset ("we," "us"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. What the Site is — and is not

The Site is an independent educational publication about U.S. federal student loan repayment, including the Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP) and the 2026–2028 transition. The Site is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, or any government agency or loan servicer. We cannot access your loan accounts or take any action on your behalf. All official student loan actions occur exclusively through StudentAid.gov or your loan servicer and are always free of charge.

2. No financial, legal, or tax advice

All content on the Site — articles, comparisons, worked examples, and the RAP Payment Calculator — is general educational information. It is not financial, legal, tax, or investment advice; it is not individualized to your circumstances; and it does not create any advisor-client or fiduciary relationship. Repayment, refinancing, consolidation, tax-filing, and forgiveness decisions depend on facts specific to you. Before acting, verify current program rules at StudentAid.gov and, where your situation warrants, consult a qualified professional. See our Disclaimer for additional detail, which is incorporated into these Terms.

3. Calculator terms

The RAP Payment Calculator implements the statutory payment formula using the stated assumptions printed on its page. Its outputs are estimates for educational purposes only. Actual payments are determined by your loan servicer and the Department of Education, whose official calculations control in all cases. Program rules, poverty guidelines, and formulas can change after our last update. You use calculator outputs at your own risk and should verify any figure before relying on it.

4. Permitted use and license

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to access the Site and use its content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may link to any page. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link. You may not: reproduce or republish substantial portions of the Site's content; scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or data, including for training machine-learning models, except as permitted in our llms.txt or robots.txt; misrepresent Site content as official government guidance; use the Site to violate any law; or interfere with the Site's operation or security.

5. Intellectual property

The Site's original content, design, organization, and the calculator implementation are owned by Student Loan Reset and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Cited U.S. government works remain in the public domain; third-party works cited or linked remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you.

6. Affiliate relationships and advertising

Some outbound links — primarily on refinancing-related pages — are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you complete a transaction after clicking them, at no additional cost to you. These are disclosed on the pages where they appear and in our Disclaimer. The Site may also display third-party advertising. Affiliate relationships and advertising never determine editorial conclusions. Any transaction you enter with a third party — including any lender — is solely between you and that party, on their terms; we are not a party to, and bear no responsibility for, such transactions.

7. Third-party sites

The Site links to external websites, including government sites, servicers, publishers, and commercial partners. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or practices. A link is not an endorsement.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT AND TOOLS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN RULES ARE SUBJECT TO ONGOING LEGISLATION, LITIGATION, AND RULEMAKING; CONTENT MAY BECOME OUTDATED WITHOUT NOTICE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STUDENT LOAN RESET AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF MONEY, SAVINGS, FORGIVENESS ELIGIBILITY, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT OR TOOLS — INCLUDING DECISIONS ABOUT REPAYMENT PLANS, REFINANCING, CONSOLIDATION, FORGIVENESS, OR TAXES — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; IN THAT CASE OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Student Loan Reset and its operators from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

11. Changes; termination

We may modify these Terms by posting revisions here with a new effective date; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access to the Site at any time. Sections 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8–13 survive termination.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in full force.

13. Contact
